Palestinian Documentary Screening + Q&A with the Director + Food
Palestinian filmmaker Ehab Ghafri will screen his documentary at De Warren on Monday the 30th. We’ll start with a big collective meal in the woonzaal, which will double as a cooking workshop where people can learn about Palestinian cuisine and hear stories. After the meal, there will be a screening of the documentary, followed by a Q&A with the director.
Everyone is asked to make a donation: guideline €35 if you're joining the meal, and guideline €15 for the film only. All donations will go to ambulance workers in Jenin Refugee Camp. Please fill out this form to reserve your spot, as places are limited.

Ehab Ghafri is a filmmaker, theater artist, psychologist, and geopolitical tour guide.
"My work spans the West Bank, where I seek to tell stories that capture the reality of the Palestinian people, with a focus on children, women, and humanitarian issues. Despite the risks, I remain committed to filmmaking, believing that the cost of silencing Palestinian voices far exceeds the cost of producing our films.
Connection to Jenin Camp: Returning to Jenin Camp for film research, I realized the immense suffering there is difficult to convey fully. However, my connection to the camp drives me to share even a fraction of the residents' experiences and the broader Palestinian Struggle.
Film Objective: My film aims to depict life in Jenin Camp through the voices of resistance fighters and civilians, including mothers and children of martyrs. I want the world to witness how Palestinian children are targeted and to feel immersed in the camp's reality through powerful visuals. The film also highlights the impact of reduced support from UNRWA and celebrates the camp's heroes-ambulance crews, journalists, and resilient women striving for a better future. I want young filmmakers to understand that powerful stories don't need large budgets, and that our narrative is no longer controlled by external producers.
Tour Project: Through a European tour, I aim to raise awareness about Jenin Camp and Palestine, answering audience questions and rallying support for essential services in the camp, such as ambulance centers, nurseries, and food distribution.
The ambulance team is in urgent need of various equipment. The paramedics inside the camp are working and purchasing supplies at their own expense. The field team in the camp and in the ambulance belonging to the In Sina Ambulance Center are using their personal funds to pay for fuel and equipment. They don't even have basic safety gear like bulletproof vests and helmets to protect themselves!
